About Us
We are a dedicated and hard working couple living on the family farm in Central Alberta. We both grew up on farms and know that this is what we are meant to do. Gayle was a teacher for many years and loves watching and helping things grow, whether it is young minds or tomato plants. Wes has had a long career in driving truck and ministry but has always felt the pull back to farming. We have three beautiful children and they have blessed us with four grandbabies and counting. Family is the backbone of who we are and how we do things. We enjoy meeting new people and building relationships out of those encounters with many visits over coffee and home baked cookies. We love the peace and quiet of the country and farm living. This is where we belong!
Planting and Plant Care
There are some things we plant before winter like garlic! We also start things like tomatoes and most of our herbs, as well as many others, inside in February. Our outside planting starts in late April and continues into July. We stagger our planting so that we can prolong the amount of time you get to enjoy your vegetables!
We follow organic practices. We have spent a lot of time researching and learning from other gardners different ways to care for and treat our plants to remove and help prevent pests. Some of the things include diatomaceous earth, companion planting, and many other things.
Delivery and Pick Up
Currently we offer delivery to five of our surrounding communities but are open to more as the need arises. One day a week we will meet our customers at a specific location to deliver their box of goods. It is the customers responsibility to meet at that designated location at the correct time to pick up their box. If they are unable to be there then we ask that our customers make other arrangements with us in advance. We want to make sure that everyone who wants a box is able to get a box!
Payment Information
At this time we are able to accept payments via cash, cheque, or electronic transfer. Payment arrangements can be made. We require a 25% deposit and the rest paid before the beginning of box deliveries. For more details about this please contact us!
